Sheffield Housing Authority Executive Director Opening
The Sheffield Housing Authority, located in Sheffield, Alabama, is now accepting cover letters and resumes for the position of Executive Director. Sheffield Housing Authority has converted to a Moving-to-Work agency and manages 412 Public Housing units, 322 Housing Choice Vouchers, 79 Mainstream Vouchers, as well as a Family Self Sufficiency Program and a ROSS Grant. This position exercises direct supervision over all departments, programs and employees of the Housing Authority. The Executive Director is also responsible for the agency’s development of affordable housing and the modernization of affordable housing units.
This position performs a variety of tasks related to the overall success, viability and growth of the Housing Authority. It is directly responsible for the operations and management of the agency. In collaboration with the Board of Commissioners, the Executive Director ensures the financial and operational viability of the agency and directly impacts the growth and success of the agency. It requires highly developed leadership, management, communication and change management skills, constantly re-prioritizing strategies, projects, tasks, budgets and resources.
Qualifications:
- The applicant should have 5-7 years of Public Housing experience with increasing responsibility
- Moving-to-Work experience preferred
- Have a Public Housing Management Certification
- Relocation to Sheffield is preferred
