The Bladenboro and Bladen Housing Authorities (BHA) are seeking an Executive Director who will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all operations and activities of the Housing Authorities. The position is responsible for advising the Boards of Commissioners on policy formulation and developing programs to carry out these policies. Activities associated with the job include overseeing all aspects of the Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher Programs, conversion to RAD program of housing, preparing, and monitoring annual operating budgets, coordinating all staffing and human resource activities, and development of the five-year plan and capital funding initiatives. Activities associated with the position require the exercise of independent judgment and initiative and the application of extensive knowledge of the regulations governing Public Housing and the Housing Choice Voucher programs and procedures. Supervision is exercised over a group of administrative and maintenance staff and is responsible for overseeing daily housing authority operations and activities. Job responsibilities require excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills, extensive knowledge of the federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to public housing authority operations, and thorough experience supervising support staff. The Bladenboro/Bladen Housing Authorities are two small PHAs with a combined total of 154 conventional public housing units and 232 housing choice vouchers.
