REGISTRATION
The 2025 SERC/MARC NAHRO Annual Conference will be held June 22 to June 24, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Atlanta, GA. Onsite registration will be available. Virtual participation will not be available.
CONFERENCE REGISTRATION includes admission to all SERC-NAHRO sponsored conference events including plenary and concurrent sessions; offered meals, breaks, some drinks, and receptions; the SERC Emerging Leaders Welcome Party; and access to the YAPP conference app.

Conference registration and tour fee must be paid in advance before registration will be confirmed. Online registration must be paid by credit card. SERC-NAHRO accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. REGISTRATION CANCELATION & REFUND POLICY:
Written notice of cancellation must be postmarked by Friday, June 6, 2025, to receive a refund minus a $50 cancellation fee. No telephone cancellations will be honored. No Refunds after Friday, June 6, 2025, will be provided and SERC-NAHRO does not issue credit toward future events or provide refunds for no-shows. Faxed cancellations after Friday, June 6, 2025, will not be accepted.

The Hyatt Regency Atlanta Hotel is located at 265 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, Georgia. Located in downtown Atlanta, hotel is just minutes from Mercedes-Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena, the Georgia Aquarium, King Center, and World of Coca-Cola – plus, Ponce City Market, Krog Street Market, Piedmont Park, the Beltline path, historic neighborhoods, shops and dining.
SERC-NAHRO ROOM RATE
The Annual Conference room rate for SERC/MARC NAHRO attendees is $219/night plus tax. To access the special rate, attendees must make reservations through the weblink provided in the 2025 Annual Conference registration confirmation.
HOTEL RESERVATION POLICY
Register first, then reserve your room! Annual Conference registration is required prior to making a reservation in the SERC-NAHRO room block. Once your registration is confirmed, your registration confirmation will contain a weblink through which to reserve your hotel accommodations on-line in the SERC-NAHRO room block. A credit card is required to make a reservation. *Any reservation in the SERC-NAHRO room block without a corresponding Annual Conference registration will be canceled without notice. Requests for reservations at the SERC-NAHRO group rate will be accepted for registered Annual Conference attendees on a space available basis through May 23rd or until the SERC-NAHRO room block is sold out, whichever comes first. Rooms within the SERC-NAHRO room block are limited and first-come, first-serve.
If you need to cancel a room under the SERC-NARHO group rate, please don’t cancel the reservation. Post your extra room at the EXTRA ROOMS page. If someone needs a room, they will contact you to transfer the reservation to their name. Reservations that are canceled are removed from the SERC-NAHRO room block and are no longer available at the discounted rate.

- LIHTC Compliance Specialist Certification Training – Monday, June 23rd through Wednesday, June 25th from 8-5pm (Quadel) This comprehensive course provides an in-depth introduction to the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage LIHTC properties and ensure compliance with program regulations. Online Certification Exam Available.
- Attendees taking this certification should book their hotel to include the additional conference day, as it runs for three days at no extra cost, Monday – Wednesday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

- Bridging Mental Health and Public Housing – (Tonia Spaulding, Licensed Professional Counselor, Director of Behavioral Health & Wellness Department) Housing Conditions may take a toll on an individual’s emotional status, depression and hostility among residents. A cohesive neighborhood, support and creating opportunities for neighbors to interact may be a Key Ingredient to Quality Housing. This interactive session will explore how Mental Health is supported through housing.
- How to create, fund, manage and operate a PHA Non-profit – (Smith Marion & Co.) Train and hands on insight for Housing Authorities on creating, managing and operating a separate Nonprofit Organization.
- Multifamily Housing and RAD Conversion Strategies
- Tenant Services Round Robin (Homeownership, ROSS, Jobs Plus, MTW, FSS.) – (Multiple PHAs) The presentation will feature multiple PHA’s who have had success with the various tenant programs such as, ROSS, FSS, Choice Neighborhoods, Jobs Plus, Youthbuild and MTW. In the session each presenter will give a synopsis of their program, starting with its inception and ending with its recent tenant successes. Along the way they will also be detailing the initial pitfalls and major accomplishments.
- Board of Commissioner Certification – (Bobby Collins, MBA, CPM, CME, CMPO) Learn to be a more effective Commissioner while respecting the boundaries between Commissioners and the Executive Director. Gain a better understanding of the Commissioner’s role (Policy and Oversight) and a better understanding of PHA finances, operations, new housing development, board relations, ethics and advocacy. Learning will be reinforced with lots of fun activities and friendly competition.
- Hands-On Residential Electrical Repairs – (Corey Cogley, Training for Tomorrow LLC) Introduction and review of basic electrical principals, tools and methods. Hands-on practice for various wiring scenarios, including lights, switches, receptacles, GFI’s and three-way switches.
- IGWS Grant Writing Course – (Elizabeth Phillips, Integral Grant Writing Services) This course will go over how to find grants, how to effectively write grants and how to understand grants.

- Best Practices Applicants with Criminal Background – (Shiri Yadlin, CSH) This workshop will offer practical tools for creating a more equitable background screening process while ensuring units are filled more efficiently. Participants will learn techniques to better serve tenants who have a history of justice system involvement and explore ways to create communities where all residents can thrive.
- Section 8 Roundtable – (Elizabeth Little, Rental Assistance Committee) An informal discussion on hot topics involving the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
